Residents living near Richmond Dairies’ Casino factory were forced inside late yesterday afternoon due to a gas leak.
Staff were carrying out routine maintenance, when a valve failure in the refrigeration system caused an ammonia leak.
Emergency services closed several streets surrounding the factory while the problem was fixed.
Nobody was seriously injured.
