MENINGOCOCCAL STRIKES IN THE HUNTER AGAIN

A sixth case of meningococcal disease has been recorded in the Hunter this year.

Health officials confirmed today that a young man is being treated for the infection – and is in a stable condition in hospital.

Across New South Wales, four people have died from the disease this year.

Symptoms include a sudden fever, joint pain, nausea and red rashes.
