Recent crime on Beaumont Street has re-ignited calls for more CCTV cameras there.
A 44-year-old man was assaulted outside a hotel last weekend, while a newsagency was held up the week before.
“The chamber’s been lobbying for many, about two years now with the state government and it’s just, when is enough enough for them to do something about it”. says Nathan Errington from the Hamilton Business Chamber.
The state government says it’s considering the chamber’s application for funding.
