The community can now comment on plans by mining giant Glencore, to store mining waste from its Bulga site inside the main pit.
Submissions today opened to the public, with all responses to be considered by the New South Wales Department of Planning.
The proposal also includes a re-design of the mine’s eastern waste area.
The Bulga mine is located around 12 kilometres southwest of Singleton, with the proposed works to be constructed away from the town of Bulga.
