ITEMS RECOVERED FROM BREAK AND ENTER THEFTS

A man and a woman have been charged following break-ins throughout the Hunter this month.

According to police, properties at Eaglton and Fullerton Cove were broken into over the 6th and 7th of July. In both cases, firearms and personal items were stolen.

Following other investigations into large scale mail theft, police attended a unit on Cook Street in Raymond Terrace, where a 23-year-old man and a 23-year-old woman were arrested.

A search of the property allegedly revealed hundreds of mail items, numerous items of jewellery, and other property from the break-ins.

Among other counts, the man was charged with aggravated break, enter and steal, two counts of larceny, and two counts of goods in custody.

The woman was charged with aggravated break, enter and steal, dishonestly obtaining financial advantage by deception, and goods in custody.

Both are due to appear in court later this month.
