NEWCASTLE MAN CHARGED WITH CHILD GROOMING OFFENCES

A Newcastle man will appear in court later this month, after being charged with child grooming offences.
Queensland Police’s Task Force Argos began talking with a man from Newcastle on a social networking site in January.
Police allege the 28-year-old made numerous sexually explicit comments to who he thought was a 14-year-old girl.
Early this morning, he was arrested at a home in Tully Street at Carrington.
The man’s been charged with using a carriage service to transmit indecent communication to a person under 16 years of age, and using a carriage service to groom a person under 16 years of age.
He’s been granted bail and will face court on July 21.
