NEWCASTLE KNITTERS EDGED OUT OF WOOL COMP
A Newcastle knitting group may be feeling a bit sheepish today, after being edged out of the long weekend’s Back to Back Wool Challenge.
The Spinning Knitwits faced tough competition at Tocal as they raced to create a jumper straight off the sheep’s back.
The Aussies finished shearing and knitting in six hours and 31 minutes – but unfortunately it wasn’t fast enough to beat the Dutch team.
An estimated $3,000 was raised at the event, for cancer research at the Calvary Mater Hospital.
