SES PREPARES FOR WILD WEATHER
A strike involving Central Coast waste operators is casing a headache for local State Emergency Service crews, gearing up for a weekend of wild weather.
They fear uncollected garbage will only create further mess and has the potential to cause serious damage.
“the water has the capacity to pick the bins up and float them down water channel we are advising people to be aware of that and try to secure their loaded bins,” SES’s Rolf Garda said.
More than 100 millimeters of rain is expected to fall on the Central Coast this weekend, with the majority predicted tomorrow.
The SES has additional crews on standby to assist.
