EXPERT PANEL CONSIDERS REVISED WATER GUIDELINES
The Williamtown Expert Panel is considering new drinking water guidelines released by the United States Environmental Protection Agency.
The US EPA advises that drinking water with less than 70 parts per trillion of PFOS and PFOA – a slightly lower level than the original guideline – is not expected to cause negative health impacts over a lifetime of exposure.
For Williamtown residents in the red zone, precautionary measures remain in place.
They include not drinking or preparing food in water from private bores, dams, ponds or creeks.
