Witnesses say they saw items and a bush on fire in a laneway at the back of Air View Aluminium, a light industrial business operating in the Newcastle suburb of Lambton.
Immediately calling 000, they say it took less than 10 minutes for the fire to completely take hold of the storage building neighbouring the main offices.
Firefighters responded quickly, a number of crews called away from Station Open days to battle the flames.
The blaze attracting a big crowd of onlookers.
It’s not yet known what caused the fire, however at this stage it is being treated as suspicious.
