  1. Great. And how about they use indigenous culture.
Otherwise it is irelevant. Sydney is a meeting place.
2 great cultures… Eora and Europeans.

  2. The owner of the site refused to comment about plans. In other words, the owner of the site intends to develop it. Nice for the site to have been sold in the first place.

  3. I went there over 40 years ago as a kid. I hope it does reopen.

We had a great time. I can still remember the taste of freshly made damper.

  4. Will never happen, we used to have interesting things but why keep those when u can just build apartments on it, if we were LA, Disneyland would have been redeveloped by now lol

  5. I had many wonderful trips to OLD Sydney Town when the children were young and on school holidays it brings back many happy memories for me I would love to see it reopen The Entrance has the Pelican feeding and is always full with tourist buses Iam sure these visitors would love to see and takepart in your wonderful history

  6. I really hope this happens. For my son, nieces and nephew and for me! I loved this place and have great memories here.

  7. The site belongs to Warwick amusements. Based in France. When it was open it lost money, 600k a year when. The gov ran it. The new owners couldn’t make a profit either. It’s a lovely idea but not economically feasible. Perhaps a new site closer to Sydney may be a better option for the tourist dollar.

  8. Exactly. Was a wonderful place, but not economically viable. Wouldn’t be in the future either.

  9. I was about to write something very similar. What a great opportunity to showcase the local indigenous people and their way of life, maybe even include an escaped convict who has gone to live with them, something which did happen. The original Old Sydney Town was a bit of a pantomime/soap opera. Imagine if you had a real blacksmith, a cooper, a baker etc. showing how things were made back then. Yes there is also the convict side. Hopefully it can be educational, interesting and a great day out for everyone without turning our history into a series of jokes and punchlines
