LENNOX DEFEAT BALLINA IN UNION SEASON OPENER
Wollongbar Alstonville has obliterated Casino in Far North Coast Rugby Union’s opening round.
Casino didn’t cross once, while its opposition piled on a whopping 107 points.
Lismore didn’t fare much better in its first hit-out against Byron Bay, going down 74-7.
In a much closer game, Bangalow defeated Southern Cross 32 to 27.
While Ballina went down to Lennox Head 8 points to 14.
Despite several penalties going Ballina’s way, a single try from Ryan Boardman and penalty goal to Mitch Knight wasn’t enough to walk away with victory.
Hayden Blair and Jack Tyndall each crossed once for Lennox, with Billy Goldsmith kicking both conversions.
