NEWCASTLE SCHOOLS ANZAC SERVICE

Anzac Day commemorations have officially begun in Newcastle, with a combined high schools service taking place at Civic Theatre.
Students from 40 public, catholic and independent schools took part in the service, now in its 61st year.
With the historical focus of commemorations shifting from Gallipoli to the Western Front this year, the performance told the story of the lost diggers of the Batttle of Fromelles.
