It’s been revealed, an independent report deemed the Pelican Marina to be in ‘sound structural condition’, just four months before it collapsed into Lake Macquarie.
The report, released today, made eight recommendations, including that further assessment of the building and boardwalk be carried out.
Labor says the Baird Government needs to come clean, on whether that advice was acted upon, before the marina met its watery end.
A spokesperson for the Department of Primary Industries – Lands says “There was nothing observed, noted or included in the report recommendations by NSW Public Works that suggested any immediate concern with the overall stability of the structure, or its foundations.”
