$500,000 GENERATED FROM PAID PARKING
Byron Shire Council has received more than half a million dollars in revenue, since the roll out of paid parking almost four months ago.
Council predicts the parking meters will generate over $2-million a year, which it says will go towards infrastructure projects across the Shire.
Meanwhile, the credit card facility on the machines is now operational.
Until now drivers have been forced to use loose change to pay for parking.
Council will review the scheme mid year.
