14-YEAR-OLD CHARGED WITH GRAFFITI OFFENCES AND BREACHING BAIL

A 14-year-old boy from Fennell Bay has been charged with graffiti offences and breaching bail in the Lake Macquarie area yesterday.

Around 6pm on Wednesday, the boy was part of a group of people that boarded a train at Adamstown. They got off at Booragul Station and were observed on CCTV graffiting a foot bridge, pylons and electrical boxes. They then fled the area.

Police attended and commenced inquiries, which led to them attending a home in Fennell Bay around 11am on Friday. There they arrested the 14-year-old.

He was subsequently charged with intentionally marking premises without consent, enter running lines, and breach of bail.

He will appear at a Children’s Court on 21 March.
