AMPUTATED LEGS DISCOVERED AT NEWCASTLE TIP
Investigations are underway into the discovery of human remains at a city dump in Newcastle.
A worker at the Summer Hill Waste Facility found the two, surgically-removed legs protruding from garbage yesterday afternoon, in a section of the dump where medical waste had been disposed of.
While not being treated as suspicious, police, Newcastle Council and the EPA are investigating how the limbs came to be discarded at the tip.
