CHAFFEY LOOKING DAM FINE
The $50-million dollar upgrade to Chaffey Dam is nearing completion, earmarked to be finished by its April deadline after nearly two years of construction.
It’s hoped the upgrade will help drought-proof Tamworth, which lies 43-kilometres downstream.
Once finished the dam will be able to hold 100,000 megalitres.
The works are jointly funded by federal, state and local government, with Tamworth Regional Council contributing nearly $4-million.
