Nathan Tinkler has silenced critics over the state of his finances, putting up $25-million to buy the disused Dartbrook mine near Aberdeen.
His company – Australian Pacific Coal – has acquired an 83-per cent share in the mine, after meeting a deadline set by Anglo American to raise the funds.
However, concerns do remain about Mr Tinkler’s ability to meet his financial obligations to rehabilitate the mine.
