SPRAY DRIFT COSTING MILLIONS
A national warning has been issued from Cotton Australia regarding a major spike in spray drift.
Farmers are being urged to plan ahead and be mindful of weather conditions, so pesticides aren’t sprayed beyond the target area.
About 60,000 hectares have been impacted, representing 20 per cent of the entire crop and an estimated $20 million worth of damage.
CEO Adam Kay says it’s the worst case he’s seen in 30 years and is urging growers to report any damage.
