A man has been charged over a string of armed hold-ups around Newcastle in the past couple of months.
The 35-year-old was arrested at Kotara late on Friday, and police say a search of a home in Hamilton turned up a shortened firearm, ammunition and clothing.
The man is facing charges in relation to hold-ups at the Broadmeadow and Adamstown post offices, and a pizza shop in Newcastle West.
He’s been refused bail.
