A 23-year-old man allegedly at the centre of a siege in Newcastle yesterday, will face Newcastle Local Court today.
Police were called to Young Street in Carrington, just after 6am, after reports a man was armed with a gun in a unit with two women.
One of the women left the unit shortly after police arrived.
After about four hours a man surrendered to police.
It’s alleged a shortened firearm, tablets and a crystal substance believed to be illicit drugs were found during a search of the property.
The man was refused bail and charged with possessing a firearm, ammunition and goods in custody.
