Paramedics were called to East Maitland this morning, following reports an elderly man had been hit by lightning.
They arrived at the Brisbane Street address shortly after 10:45am, but the 74-year-old didn’t require treatment.
NSW Ambulance says a lightning strike nearby knocked the man off his feet.
Meanwhile powerlines in the area were struck causing blackouts, but Ausgrid has restored services to areas around East Maitland and Morpeth.
