TWO MEN CAUGHT ALLEGEDLY PERVERTING THE COURSE OF JUSTICE

Two men have been caught allegedly perverting the course of justice, over a drink-driving charge on the Central Coast four years ago.

In October 2011, police attempted to stop a vehicle for a random breath test at Shelly Beach, which resulted in the now 57-year-old driver being charged with drink-driving and resisting arrest.

The criminal proceedings were later dismissed and the man successfully sued the New South Wales Police Force.

But in October this year, a strike force, launched by officers in Newcastle, found a different, 44-year-old man, had allegedly tampered with the evidence.

That man was arrested yesterday and later charged with perverting the course of justice and tampering with evidence.

Meantime, the 57-year-old man was also arrested and charged with perjury, perverting the course of justice and attempted fraud.

They’ll both face Wyong Local Court next month.
