Sunshine Coast surfer Dale Lovelock scored a dramatic victory in today’s final of the 54th Mattara Classic.
The Central Coast’s Jamie Skillin had the early advantage with an eight point ride.
He backed that up with a four to leave Lovelock with work to do.
But the Queenslander saved his best for last.
A 5.9 put him in contention, before this effort in the final minute handed him victory by just point one five.
The win, a major boost in his quest to join the world tour.
