Member for Paterson, Bob Baldwin, has been named as possible collateral damage amid talks of a Liberal leadership spill.
A so-called ‘hit-list’ has apparently been drawn up in the case of a reshuffle and Mr Baldwin was on the chopping block.
The Environment Minister, Greg Hunt, who works alongside Mr Baldwin in the portfolio, has since reassured the Prime Minister that Mr Baldwin had reached an “absolute high water mark in his career”.
Adding, “I know just from talking to the PM over recent days he is so proud of the broad achievement and he’s immensely proud of Bob Baldwin and he is really kicking goals in a big way”.
The minister rejected the idea of Mr Abbott calling on a spill in the party room on Tuesday, to clear the air over leadership speculation.
