Two mine operators in the north west have been fined a combined total of $12,000 by the Department of Planning and Environment for breaching approval conditions.
Idemitsu has been issued with two fines for unauthorised clearing at its Boggabri mine.
While Whitehaven Coal has received two fines for failing to carry out weed control at its Tarrawonga mine, and feral animal control at its Maules Creek mine.
