A 30-year-old man has been charged with domestic violence offences, including setting a Hunter home on fire earlier this week.
Police allege he set the Paxton property alight on Tuesday morning and ran from the scene.
He was arrested late yesterday afternoon, following a large-scale police operation at Aberdare, east of Cessnock.
General duties officers and the dog squad were involved in the search.
The man was taken to Cessnock Police Station and charged with malicious damage by fire.
