FIVE ARRESTED FOLLOWING RAIDS ON NORTH COAST
Five people have been arrested, after drugs and firearms were seized during a series of raids on the North Coast.
Early this morning, police searched five homes in East Lismore, Tuckombil, Ballina, Goonellabah and Tweed Heads West.
They also searched two storage facilities at Alstonville and Ballina.
Officers seized four handguns including one semi-automatic, more than $100,000 cash and drugs believed to be ice.
The raids form part of Strike Force Tucker, which was set up in April to investigate the supply of methylamphetamine in the region.
“Investigators have been involved in numerous inquiries and I believe that we have shut down a major drug distribution network on the north coast of NSW,” said Detective Inspector Cameron Lindsay.
