Junior rugby players have thrown their support behind the Hunter Breast Cancer Foundation, dedicating today’s games to raising awareness and funds.
Over 1000 players and referees from clubs across the region wore pink socks, while some donned special jerseys.
All money raised will go towards providing practical support to local patients.
“Things like transport to and from treatment, and cleaning services and lawn services and other support programs we have in place,” said foundation’s president Lisa Bartley.
The foundation is hoping to benefit by more than $10,000.
