A man has been stabbed during a home invasion at South Tamworth this morning.
The 46-year-old man answered a knock at the front door of his Petra Avenue home just after midnight, when he was threatened by a man with a knife.
He forced his way inside the home, with three others following him.
The man’s son ran out the back door and was confronted by another four people.
The 46-year-old ran to assist him, but was stabbed in the lower back.
The group fled with a wallet and prescription drugs in an older model white Commodore sedan.
Paramedics took the injured man to Tamworth Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
