“WIN FOR COMMUNITY” AFTER OURIMBAH TRAIN YARD SCRAPPED
Member for The Entrance, David Mehan, is hailing Transport New South Wales’ decision to abandon its plans for a train-maintenance yard in Ourimbah, as a win for the community.
The plans were met with strong opposition from some locals, as the yard would’ve been built close to homes.
“That’s the way we want to assess projects on the Coast. Whether they’ll enhance the area, or give us jobs. This one was not going to do either of them, so it’s good to see it moved away.”
Transport New South Wales has instead opted to upgrade existing yards in Sydney and the Hunter.
