RICH HISTORY OF WATT STREET REVEALED

The rich history of one of Newcastle’s oldest streets will be highlighted in a new production by Tantrum Youth Arts.
It will take audiences on a stroll down memory lane in Watt Street, showcasing everything from its indigenous heritage, to World War One links.

I was very interested to watch your report this evening on Watt Street. The 3 Masson brothers were my great uncles, my grandfather was Erick Masson who was not old enough to go to war so was the only surviving brother.
I have the bible that Harry had during WW, it has a bullet hole (maybe schrapnel) in the back, we were told it saved his life at the time but he wasnt so lucky later on. I didnt know that the memorial existed so will be very interested in seeing it. Thank you Susan Masson
