A critically-acclaimed production hits Newcastle’s Civic Theatre this Friday and today some of the all-indigenous male cast took in the city’s sights.
The play – called “Black Diggers” – celebrates the contribution of around 1,000 aboriginal soldiers who fought for Australia during World War One, without recognition.
Banned by the government from serving, the soldiers had to hide their heritage to enlist.
The Queensland Theatre Company production runs until Saturday.
