A young boy injured in a boating accident on Lake Macquarie last weekend has died in hospital.
The 11-year- old became trapped under a capsized skiff he’d been sailing with another boy in Belmont Bay on Saturday afternoon.
A fisherman and nearby racing yacht crew rushed to help, commencing CPR and bringing the boy ashore to waiting paramedics.
The police marine area command is preparing a report for the coroner.
