WEATHER: THE TROPICS HAVE COME OUR WAY
PHOTO: Thanks to Bec Van G. for this great snap, taken this afternoon at North Arm Cove.
The stalled trough has been consistently firing up storms across the region for almost a week now and rain totals are starting to add up for some of the drought stricken areas.
- Tamworth 100mm.
- Merriwa, Woolbrook and Cessnock 90mm.
- Mungindi 70mm.
- Barraba 50mm.
Along the coast it has been very patchy with over 200mm coming down on Dorrigo over the past week, while the drought stricken Mid North Coast has generally received less than 30mm.
There is still more to come though. We’ll see the storm activity ease over the next couple of days, remaining focused over the northern ranges.
On Thursday we are set to have another widespread burst with the potential to pick up more solid totals.
The whole weather trend may come to end with the formation of an east coast low by the weekend.
When are you going to start posting the nightly weather report on this web page? As it is the best around!
