Former Macksville local and test cricketer, Phil Hughes, remains in a critical condition after he was struck in the head by a cricket ball.
The 25-year-old was rushed to St Vincent’s Hospital yesterday after being hit by a bouncer from New South Wales paceman Sean Abbott at the SCG.
Hughes was playing with South Australia in a Sheffield Shield match, which has since been cancelled out of respect.
Cricket New South Wales has provided players and staff, counselling and support.
