OFF-DUTY MEDICAL WORKERS PRAISED FOR RESCUE
Three off-duty medical workers, who saved the life of a man at Soldiers Beach yesterday afternoon, have been praised by police.
Just after 1:30, a 67-year-old man suffered a heart attack and lost consciousness while swimming with his daughter.
The paramedic and two nurses immediately began performing CPR on the beach until lifesavers and emergency services arrived, and flew the man to the Royal North Shore Hospital.
This afternoon he underwent bypass surgery, and remains in a serious but stable condition.
