In a visit to Metford this morning, New South Wales Labor Leader John Robertson has announced if elected, Labor will keep the new Maitland Hospital in public hands.
In July, Premier Mike Baird indicated he was open to a Private-Public Partnership.
“For months, the Liberals and Nationals have been refusing to provide the funding model on the new hospital,” Mr Robertson said.
“Let me make it clear – under Labor this hospital will not be privately run and operated.”
The New South Wales Government has said the new hospital will be built by 2019.
