GRANT KENNY SIGNS UP FOR COOLANGATTA GOLD
He’s got a torn calf muscle, bronchitis and may have to fly to Europe and back before the weekend.
But Grant Kenny’s determined to live up to his ‘ironman legend’ tag, signing up for Sunday’s Coolangatta Gold.
Here’s a taste of what the 51-year-old will tackle in the 42-kay race.
“A run up over North Burleigh headland – that’s going to be tough for him. And then there’ll be a swim around Burleigh – around three kays and then a six kay board-paddle from Burleigh Heads to Currumbin. And then seven kays, probably for Grant Kenny crawling to Coolangatta.”
Kenny travelled to Perth today for business.
