Tamworth cyclist Sam Spokes has returned home following a gruelling eight-month season in Europe.
Spokes says 2014 has been his most successful year, after a Tour win in the Czech Republic.
The 22 year old is now ready to make the step up to the senior professional ranks.
“Come January for Nationals, I’ll be racing against the likes of Cadel Evans and Simon Gerrans, so that’s really going to make it hard, but it’s also going to make it a great experience.”
Spokes is expected to announce a new professional contract by the end of next week.
