Wyong Mayor Doug Eaton says he’ll pursue Liberal candidacy for The Entrance State seat, if he is supported by the party.
The seat will be vacated in March, with Chris Spence announcing he won’t be seeking re-election.
If Councillor Eaton does run for the State seat the Local Government Act enables him to see out his mayoral term while possibly serving as a member of parliament.
