JOBS LOST AFTER BLUESTONE GLOBAL GOES INTO ADMINISTRATION
Thousands of Bluestone Global workers have lost their jobs after the mining services provider went into administration.
It’s a hit for the Hunter’s mining industry with Bluestone’s subsidiary, local firm ResCo, subsequently placed in liquidation.
Liquidator Craig Shepard says every effort is being made to find new jobs for the 3,500 contract workers and 180 full-time staff from Bluestone, and its subsidiaries.
It’s unclear how many jobs will be affected in the Hunter.
Muswellbrook Mayor Martin Rush says ResCo workers should still be in demand, because they’re contracted to local mining operations.
