RAAF HORNETS TAKE TO THE SKIES ABOVE TAMWORTH
If you’ve seen low flying jets across the region late this afternoon don’t worry – it’s all part of the Royal Australian Air Force training at Tamworth Regional Airport.
Four F-A 18 Hornet aircraft from the RAAF base in Williamtown will be in the skies until about eight o’clock tonight conducting diversion training.
Over the next four weeks aircraft will also conduct circuit training, including ‘touch-and-go’ landings at the airport.
Training at alternate airfields is an integral part of pilot training – Tamworth is a primary diversion airfield for the Williamtown RAAF Base.
