POLICE ON TRACK TO UNCOVER CAUSE OF SUSPICIOUS NURSING HOME DEATHS

Police believe they’re on track to discovering the cause of the suspicious deaths of two elderly women at a Ballina nursing home last month.

An investigation was launched following the death of the 77 and 82-year-old residents on May 10, who were found dead in their beds on that day.

Detective Superintendent Mick Willing says they’re close to discovering the cause of their deaths, which are believed to be suspicious.

“We are still awaiting the results of forensic tests to determine exactly how the women died, however we believe we have a fairly good idea of what has caused their deaths,” he said.
