A sculpture trail featuring giant fibreglass koalas scattered across the Hastings is hoped to boost visitor numbers when it’s launched next year.
The Hello Koalas project aims to cement Port Macquarie’s reputation as a leader in koala conservation by increasing public awareness.
“We’ll have 50 sculptures scattered throughout the region individually designed by artists, regional artists, national artists and a few celebrity artists.”
Organisers have put out the call for artists and community groups to submit designs to feature on the koala sculptures.
