Devastation has swept several Lake Macquarie communities, with hundreds of residents forced to spend the night in evacuation centres.
The Ruttleys Road bushfire has burnt thousands of hectares and destroyed at least four homes, including the heritage-listed Wallarah House.

They are only tin shacks at Catherine Hill it will be beautiful when the Rose Group build all the magnificient homes. I hope they are huge mansions as they have had so much trouble trying to build at that little town. Most of the homes should be rebuilt as they will be an eyesore when the new development is finished. I think that was the main reason the towns folk complained.
