UNIONS PWCS STILL AT LOGGERHEADS
Port Waratah Coal Services says it remains committed to resolving an industrial dispute, that’s now dragged on for a year.
A mass meeting called by the maritime union today,
enlisted the support of the mining and transport unions, as well as international colleagues.
The unions have undertaken a series of stoppages over a sticking point in negotiations for a new enterprise agreement.
The action coincides with the release of figures from the Newcastle Port Corporation, showing another record year of coal exports… which topped $15-billion.
