POLICE WARN OF MORE TOXIC CANISTERS
[nggallery id=65]
Police have re-issued a warning to residents to not handle toxic canisters, which continue to wash up on beaches along the east coast.
The first canister was discovered on Tuncurry beach earlier this year, which saw a fisherman hospitalised after he inhaled fumes.
It’s believed they contain a potentially lethal rat poison.
The canisters are about 30-centimetres long and made of steel, with no labels or markings.
If found, residents should call New South Wales Fire and Rescue and police.
