MAN CHARGED OVER DOG DEATHS
A man who stabbed two dogs to death and smashed the windows of
his neighbour’s house and car has been charged with animal cruelty and causing malicious damage.
Police say the 36-year-old attacked the dogs when they entered
his property at Mirrabooka on Lake Macquarie and attacked a
tethered dog in the early hours of February 19.
Police allege he stabbed one of the two dogs to death then
chased the other attacking dog off his property and down the road before inflicting fatal injuries on it.
They say the man then smashed the windows of his neighbour’s
house and car.
On Sunday police arrested the man and charged him with
committing aggravated cruelty on an animal and malicious damage.
He was given conditional bail to appear at Toronto Local Court
on April 3.
